Should ALL BC Christy Liberals be turfed out?

A  FEW of the things the BC Liberal party has done that forces one to believe they should ALL be tossed out in favor of some honest newcomers. in no particular order -
  1. Gordon Campbell's BC Liberals tried to shut down the Georgia Straight newspaper. (while totally controlling political output of the Vancouver Sun and Province dailies)
  2. BC Liberals tried to cancel our Knowledge Network.
  3. Gordon Campbell gets drunk and drives in Hawaii, is arrested and tries to cover it up by using a sleazy lawyer in Maui.
  4. Campbell promised a deficit of $495 million that became 1.8 BILLION!
  5. Liberals allow split up of elderly couple married for 60 years to separate care homes over costs and one dies lonely and afraid without her lifelong partner.
  6. Gordon Campbell sold OUR railroad, BC Rail, under suspicious circumstances. (still ongoing investigations, while the Christy Liberals obfuscate)
  7. Gordon Campbell keeps old fast ferries for political show when he could have sold them.
  8. Campbell vindictively tried to stop NDP leader Joy MacPhail from an office in Legislature.
  9. BC Liberals send 430 million to Germany to build 3 ferries instead of using competent BC shipyards. ALL of that money supported German families, NONE for BC workers.
  10. Persistent whispers that the propellers' design causes bad cavitation resulting in unexpectedly high fuel costs. BC Ferries raises prices.
  11. They allowed private Run-of-the-River projects on publicly owned rivers that are now costing us a fortune for Hydro, paying a much higher cost and only benefiting privately owned power projects.
  12. BC Liberals hire out of province people to run BC Corporations - BC Ferries. BC Hydro and pay them ridiculous salaries, while ignoring homegrown BC talent.
  13. BC Ferry sunk while American CEO runs corporation for 1 million a year salary.
  14. BC Liberals steal surplus money from ICBC for general use so BC safe drivers get no lower insurance break.
  15. Gordon Campbell sells BC Gas to private corporations for what considerations? Another BC asset sold off to private corporations for no apparent reason.
  16. Campbell stopped a legitimate criminal trial on BC Rail and paid guilty pleading Virk and Basi to be quiet! The DAY before Gary Ferrel-Collins was to testify. Suspicious?
  17. BC Liberals allowed foreign owned fish farms and diseased Atlantic salmon to devastate our once greatest wild Pacific salmon fishery.
  18. Campbell illegally terminates legitimate union contract of the Hospital Employees Union.
  19. Bowed to the 'creme-de-la-creme' on the natural/cheapest Skytrain route to the airport.
  20. Huge cost over-run of 388 million on the Vancouver Convention Center.
  21. Gordon Campbell gives himself a 53% pay raise!
  22. Christy Clark spends 12 million hosting Bollywood but nothing for dying BC Film industry.  Bollywood to bring 500 employees to work the event. No one from BC.
  23. Gordon Campbell steps away in shame from BC Premier job and gets an estimated 1.5 million pension plan and a plum job in England.
  24. BC Liberals purposely make no input into Enbridge pipeline hearings until too late. Tacitly being quiet while pretending to put conditions out.
  25. Basi and Verk get 6 million legal fees paid by taxpayers after pleading GUILTY! How can anyone construe this as anything but a keep quiet payment?
  26. Lying to merchants on Cambie Street about Skytrain 'tunnel' when it was cut and cover.
  27. Port Mann bridge becomes dangerous in icy winter for design flaw.
  28. BC allows private liquor stores to replace taxpayer profit with private profits. Money taken right out of BC coffers with every bottle of liquor sold!
  29. Liberals try to sell off distribution branch of BC liquor control division.
  30. BC Place stadium cost over-runs higher than fast ferries for restricted new roof.
  31. Liberals fire Auditor General Doyle for investigating their own BC Rail scandal.
  32. BC Christy Liberals control media through Vancouver Sun and Province, Bill Good, Sean Leslie, Keith Baldrey, Vaughn Palmer.
  33. Rich Coleman.    Nuff said.
  34. Kim Haakstad, Christy Clark's aide resigns over ethnic vote scandal. Liberals try to minimize attention to the personal emails shared by Pamela Martin and others. Information about people's private issues!
  35. Translink builds a Seabus ferry in Holland for 25 million instead of a BC shipyard for 27 million, saying they have no interest in employing British Columbians for the job Again sending 25 million OUT of BC with no benefit for BC shipbuilders!
  36. Christy Clark continues to surround herself with people with questionable motives. More aides under suspicion.
  37. Minister John Yap admits that PERSONAL emails were used to avoid Freedom Of Information requests and revelations from media. Then cites privacy issues for not telling.
  38. Provincial debt rises every year Liberals in office in spite their own law of balanced budgets. 50% higher!
  39. Liberals hide true debt by grouping huge debts as 'Contractual Obligations' and not figuring them into what we owe.
  40. Continual increase in raw logs shipped to out of province mills instead of value added for BC's benefit.
  41. Pat Bell involved in 3 different scandals up north!
  42. Tolls on new bridges and more to come.
  43. Christy Clark openly neglects the once billion dollar BC Film industry causing 15 thousand employees to struggle
  44. Christy Clark spends 11 million BC taxpayers` dollars on Bollywood film-maker awards. Which turn out to be only a private TV promotion of Bollywood and Christy changed the date to precede her election image!
  45. Shadow tolls on the Sea-to-Sky Highway.
  46. Scam Liberal political ads all over TV pretending to be info ads at cost of taxpayers.
  47. Liberals allowing Enbridge corporation to purposely distort the Douglas Channel by photo-shopping distances and islands to minimize the impact of their bitumen tankers.
  48. Liberals disbanded Tourism BC after years of successfully promoting our province.
  49. Liberals introduced the HST after promising before the election NOT to have it. And it shifts up to 2 BILLION dollars from big business onto the back of BC taxpayers! The so called 'revenue neutral' tax brings in another 800 million from consumers!
  50. BC Liberals fought every way at huge cost of $8 million to prevent a recall of the HST.
  51. Christy Clark Liberals dragged their feet about when to stop the HST, instigated it within 30 days, took 5 years to end it. And after five years, we owe the federal government nothing because we have fulfilled our obligation!
  52. Allowed Smart Meters over the protests by the homeowners of BC.
  53. Questionable carbon tax adds 10 cents per liter to our gasoline price at the pump.
  54. No protests from BC Liberals about 300 imported Chinese workers taking BC mining jobs while not allowing Canadians to gain employment! Fighting all queries about it.
  55. BC Liberals fund raising in Alberta but not telling us what they are promising Albertans.
  56. Wimpy BC Liberal MLAs unwilling to speak up for their own constituents.
  57. Clark's legal bills for BC Rail paid by taxpayer AFTER she left the party for CKNW?
  58. Lara Dauphinee paid almost 300 hundred thou for being Campbell's aide?
  59. Liberal candidates can't promise anything for voters - Premier's office controls it all.
  60. Lost millions on the Telus renaming of BC Place.
  61. Rich Coleman tries to get Casino for Surrey, no, then tries for Langley. SUSPICIOUS!
  62. Clarks close aides have to resign for trying a sneaky ethnic vote scandal. Sending private information about BC residents to personal emails of Pamela Martin, Brian Bonney etc. Admittedly to stop Freedom of Information Requests from media! More sneakiness.
  63. BC Liberals totally quiet while the federal government closed our Coast Guard station!
  64. As rats leave the sinking ship, Liberals still billing themselves as new faces while Rich Colman, Bill Bennett, Michael de Jong, Terry Lake, Mary Polak, Ida Chong, Shirley Bond, Margaret MacDairmid and Christy Clark pretend they are fresh and untainted. Sure.
  65. Moodys lowers the Province's credit rating to Negative.
  66. The BC Liberals, under Gordon Campbell and Christy Clark, have raised the provincial debt and taxpayer obligations five fold and every Liberal has sat there without a squeak to protect his or her constituents or the valued assets of British Columbia. Doesn't that tell you something?
  67. Twice as many people left BC under the Liberals than the NDP! The NDP had a net gain of 126,000 people.
  68. The money from BC Natural gas will not begin flowing into BC until 2017, well after the NEXT election!
    Sorry, I have to stop! If I wait another day before posting this there will probably be a whole list of new scandals! How many more do you want?
    I've had enough already. Time for a major sweeping of the BC Christy Liberal Party scandal littered floor!
    Wow, just like I said, one day later and what should appear? Yet another scathing report from BC Auditor General slamming the Liberal government for carbon offsets cheating! And using tens of millions of dollars (from hospitals and schools) that are not being credibly spent!
Had to add this in 2017 #69 scandal Christy fires employee of the Health DEPT. AND ONE COMMITS SUICIDE OVER PHONY ALLEGATIONS!   FORCED TO RESCIND. NO ONE SAYING WHO DID WHAT TO WHOM IN LATEST SCANDAL!  Could I add more? YES!!!!

Strategic action

Here's what the BC Liberals might do;
Wait until the May election is in fast and furious mode, then you might hear the beginning of odd dialogue from the candidates, they'll start making strange choices, quote a lot of polls, and pretend to know what is best for the people of BC. Christy Clark might be the first leader of a Provincial Party in BC to be in hiding during an election campaign!
Then we might see Christy Clark suddenly step down as Liberal leader. Christy will say she has family concerns and name her candidate to take over the party.

There will plenty of back room dealing to establish an uncontested new leader, someone who will guarantee to protect the party against corruption charges, but they'll say they did it for the noble good, to keep BC out of the clutches of the NDP. And obviously the voters of BC are not going to vote for her, she might be lower than her mentor, Gordon Campbell right now, so a renewal of the party was important.

The BC Liberals will then go gung ho into May spouting the NEW Liberals dialogue, even though it is the same old bunch all over again with new faces painted over their paper bags, but still with the 'what's in it for me,' attitude.
Some will fall for it. Many will not.
Will the voters want a bunch of old candidates who were responsible for the current image of Liberals, and the state of British Columbia? And will the people want a clean sweep. Or will Christy be too stubborn to go? Ah, it's all politics isn't it?

So who COULD be your next premier of BC?
Kevin Falcon, King of the sidespeakers?  Mary, we're looking into it, Polak? oh no John Les. OMG Kash Heed? De Jong? Bill Bennett?  maybe even Gary Farrell-Collins will return for a shot so he'll never be called to testify.  Rich Colman, now there's a worst case scenario.  Pat Bell! (joke)

Or Adrian Dix?

Which is better?

Fictions or Facts?

Taxpayer paid ad from BC Liberals: Our jobs action plan is making BC strong!

Fact from Statistics Canada: British Columbia lost 16,000 more jobs in January.

Canada ... er ..starts, um .. stops, uh ...hesitates here!

Which is better?

(they lost another 14,000 in March!)

current BC Liberal campaign ad

Personal TV and radio ad aimed at Adrian Dix:    Dix did a bad thing. Changed a date or something while working for Premier Glenn Clark. Fired. Owned up to it, got severance from the NDP party of 70,000. dollars. Says he has moved on. Now trying to be premier himself. Bad Adrian Dix?

I'm alright Jack.
BC Liberal Premier Gordon Campbell. Was plunging his party into oblivion because of nefarious  buddy deals and suspicions of corruption. His personal rating tanked to single digits. Stepped down in a cloud of controversy over BC Rail and other things. The most unpopular Premier ever. Gordon Campbell moved on too, got a send off pension of $98,175 PER YEAR! EVERY year! About 1.7 million lifetime, and to top that off, an Order of British Columbia. Then to smack the people of BC in the face once more, got an appointment to the diplomatic post of High Commissioner to Great Britain at a huge salary. And didn't own up to anything.

And Golden handshakes too? This is what it cost the BC taxpayers to get rid of these people -
Alan Seckel - Deputy to the Premier - $549,776.   Martyn Brown - who served only days as Deputy Minister -  $416,191.  Lesley Du Toit - $330,000.  Ron Norman - $323,917.  Lara Dauphinee - $192,000. as a 'retirement bonus'.  (=1.81 million)

Dix - seventy thousand dollars. Campbell - several million dollars. No wonder he's feeling smug.

Which is best?

Some things are just scary!

Coming soon, to a stalag near you, the new BC Internal passport.
When East Germany and the USSR had these, they were called internal passports, travel documents that you had to show to go from one city to another. Either the Stasi or the Militsiya checked you and asked you to explain why you want to go to Gorky, for instance, a 'closed' city in Russia, or Rahnsdorf in East Germany.
Checkpoint Charlie, keeping you safe

The BC Services Card will combine your drivers licence with your Care card in one document. Making it a convenient multifunction card. Convenient for who? BC Liberal MLA Mary MacDairmid assures us that no information will be given to unauthorized people. She seems to be overlooking the fact that your current BC Medical information is sent to accounting firms in the US or US firms operating within Canada. Either way, all the information handled by any American corporation is subject to scrutiny by Homeland Security in the States.

Despite the Patriot Act's laudable goals, Canadian privacy commissioners have criticized it for compromising the privacy rights of Canadian citizens. Indeed, under the Act the U.S. government can obtain personal information about Canadians via American companies operating in Canada, or about Canadian companies that outsource to the U.S. Once the U.S. government has made a request, the company must release the information. And the company is bound by law not to tell you. Anyone like Mary MacDairmid who believes your info is safe with an American corporation is naive to say the least.

So, much more of your personal information will now be available to those who can get it. Your medical history can now be shared by the police. And not just in BC. Reassurances by Canadian politicians have no weight at all. Indeed, in Britain the same proposal brought down a government when the people rejected the idea of even more surveillance even though it included no cameras or recordings. Electronic documents are much more sinister. It is called 'data mining'.

Yes, a very few are wondering about this. Or if you will need your 'documents' to go to Pentiction next year. Or New Westminster. "Why do you want to go to Prince George, Sir? Can I see your BC Services card, please? Are you still sick?" Or even if you need to be stopped at all with RFID chips in everything that only need you to pass card reader technology somewhere along your path. And that technology can be installed by anyone with the ability to do it. Yes, your information is NOT safe, even within your pocket.

The BC Liberal Government says the BC Services Card will take advantage of modern card technology that provides better security features and will keep everyone’s personal information more secure and help prevent fraud like identity theft or misuse of government services.
At least until it is scanned into an electronic reader for the first time. Then all bets are off.

Maybe this so called multifunction card will become a malfunction card? When implemented by a malfunctioning government I would say the latter.

Meanwhile drive safe and stay healthy and don't go anywhere that attracts attention.

Here we go again!

Translink has awarded a 25 million dollar contract to a Netherlands company to build a new Seabus boat. Bob Padden of Translink, on talking to Mike Smythe at CKNW, said they had bids from three shipbuilders. One from the US, the one from the Netherlands, and one from a BC builder!

When questioned about the cost, Mr. Padden said the BC bid was two million dollars more, so the contract was awarded to the European company. Do you remember we sent 430 million dollars for three BC ferries to a German company to support their employees. Money directly sent outside of our province with absolutely no spin-offs to BC business.

Mr. Padden had no concern at all about BC workers losing out on the contract, even when pressed that the residual benefits would far exceed the two million dollar difference. He arrogantly said that was not Translink's concern and it was not their policy to promote BC jobs! Apparently we pay this man about half a million dollars a year to make these kinds of decisions. When asked about Christy Clark's BC Jobs Plan, Padden said the BC Government had nothing to do with Translink as they were totally independent! And there was no priority to contract work to British Columbia companies. It was NOT their policy!

So we are back in the position of allowing Netherlands workers to buy cars and stoves and pension plans. At the cost of BC taxpayers! It is a shame that we have people in high positions who seem to be working independently of British Columbia interests.

Once again, if we understand how international business works, in regards to big money contracts, we have to wonder what other benefits are contained in this decision. All we can say is they'd better hide the money trail carefully, because some people are determined to find out who is getting what.
When you obviously work against the benefit of the people whose money you are spending, you evoke suspicion for your methods. Either that or you just don't give a damn. Either way there needs to be an accounting to the government of BC and perhaps someone needs to be fired.

One should ask Christy Clark what happened to her BC Jobs Plan? Having people working in BC should be a priority. The money drain because of contracts like this weighs heavily toward the ability to have a balanced budget. People who are working in BC are spending that pay within BC!

Mr. Paddon doesn't consider or care about British Columbians. Why do we consistently hire these people? Spending 25 million in a foreign country over spending 27 million in BC is false economy by anyone's standards. Evidently Paddon doesn't comprehend that.

I would ask all those BC Liberals who are so obediently quiet what are they proposing to do for British Columbians if they are elected in May? And how can we trust them to do anything if they cannot speak up for the voters now?

Same old same old from the BC Liberal Government.

The arrogance of them all!

On the same day that the Vancouver Sun sported a headline saying the BC Government deficit had increased to 1.47 BILLION dollars, Bill Good of CKNW radio, had a one hour commercial for the BC Liberals featuring one of their main spin cyclists, Philip Hochstein, President of the of the Independent Contractors of BC. Now this is an arrogant guy. He should give psychic readings, he keeps telling anyone who will listen what is in Adrian Dix's mind. And what every NDP MLA will do. Nice, he should forecast earth-quakes and tsunames too! That's not a pack of smokes in his pocket, it's a deck of tarot cards!

He went on and on while Bill Good sat and listened without interruption to his ridiculous spin that the NDP would be so bad for BC they'd put us into a deep hole. Ahem.

That 1.47 billion was an increase of 50% in the last six MONTHS!  There it was in the newsaper, probably right there on the NW studio coffee table, available for any intelligent person to see and read. Of course that doesn't fit the agenda of these Liberal hacks. Even the BC Liberal controlled Vancouver Sun had to print it. No matter how much they wanted it buried amid their Want ads.

Hochstein didn't even bother to mention that deficit or why it was so out of whack, he just went after Adrian Dix like a grow-op pitbull. At least Good, Keith Baldrey and Vaughn Palmer usually accept a question about the BC Liberals and their idol, Christy Ckark, before carefully and stealthily guiding their answer to go after what the NDP did many years ago.

Of course, Dix is frustrating the hell out of them, because he won't fall into their traps and give them real ammunition. He is playing the cool game right into Clark's goal, and it looks like he's going to score big time.  But Hochstein doesn't even bother to change the subject. He just ignores reality to rabidly chase the NDP.

If he really is interested in construction work in BC, perhaps he should go after all those employers importing cheap labour from Argentina, Guatemala  Mexico, the Philippines and yes, China! No wait, Christy Clark is selling her BC jobs plan. Is it interpreted to mean come to BC for a job? But don't apply if you're already here?

One would think Hochstein doesn't get it at all. Maybe he doesn't understand that a deficit is NOT the debt. The deficit is the difference between the money Government takes in and what the Government spends each year. Receipts include the money the Government gets from income taxes as well as user fees and other income sources. Outlays include all provincial spending including health, social security etc. along with all other spending.
When there is a deficit, the Provincial Government must borrow the money needed for the government to pay its bills.

The BC Provincial DEBT is about 45 BILLION. YOU are paying 2.5 Billion in interest payments alone!

But in spite of not accounting for it's spending or telling us where it is trying to save, (all the while advertising everywhere about how great they are, using YOUR money) indoctrinated people like Hochstein blindly go after whomever they're directed to attack. The voters are beginning to ask if the NDP is going to be so bad, how can they be worse than this group of pretenders? Don't forget people, these are the so called 'businessmen' who keep telling us they know how to run things. Hmm, maybe it's time for the simplicity of amateurs who know you can't spend more than you get. People who never had a rich daddy to set them up in business and had to live on their own income.

MLA Mike de Jong accounted the BC Liberals poor financial showing to not being able to sell a Little Mountain property for 232 million. Like that would have done it? What's next? Selling off Stanley Park? Isn't that the problem with the BC Liberal mentality? Just sell off what they don't own to cover their bills? Your BC Railroad is gone but what did that money do for you?

To see the BC Liberals floundering every day as they dig a deeper hole is not the thing, to see the corruptions emerge every week and the constant turmoil over their poor decisions is not it either, it is the arrogance that they show while being sucked under.

People like Hochstein have no clue. He could be equated with Rush Limbaugh in the States; making spurious arguments to the detriment of the party he thinks he represents!
A growling dog with teeth but no brains. Perhaps not really important but he just can't shut up. The NDP is older and wiser these days. They've silenced the harangue of their unions. They are steering a careful course towards re-election as the BC Government. And when they get there we'll be bitching about them too. We desperately need a change in the British Columbia government, each week the suspicions of corruption get deeper than Christy Clark's cleavage.

But the BC Liberals can't get the Gordon Campbell heritage out of their heads. The Liberal attitude of get it all for us, regardless of what the public thinks ... a perfectly expressed attitude by the arrogant Philip Hochstein.

The All New BC Christy Liberals for 2013

The BC Provincial election is in May of 2013. Christy Clark has chosen her big guns for the epic battle. She found some under the back benches. Not ALL the BC Liberals deserted her, there were still some to pick from. (she was seen at KFC buying the Slim Pickens bucket.) So now all new for 2013, Christy presents the election ticket for prosperity in British Columbia!   Trust us.  We`re the BC Liberals!

BC Premiere, Christy Clark

Sure she looks dazed, but .. but a premier`s job is hard. (is that Basil Rathbone behind her) Look to the future, where you won't have to do anything but listen to what we tell you. We're for families and blueberries and PPPs and surrrprissses.

             Ministry of Labor and              Ministry of Wildlife            Ministry of Welfare
                  Beer Distribution                  and Whining                  and Inertia
                 Fred Waddle                      Eunice Shivver              Harvey Closetted

           Ministry of Finance               Ministry of Holograms        Ministry of Intimidation
              and Finagling                      and Mysteriums               and Tax Collection
                   Al Kida                          Havanna Marks                  Dawg Bailiff

         Ministry of Health                  Ministry of Ethics                 Ministry of Forestry
          and Hospitals                    and Crime Prevention             and Agonyculture
       Dr. I.O. Stranglelove              Kahuna Wakalulu                Olaf Bigwoody

So there you have it, our pride and ploy ... er joy. We defy the NDP or the BC Conservatives to come up with a line-up of talent like this. (No that's not him, just looks similar) Elect us again and we`ll get right back to doing the same things to you all over again.

Our new platform includes;
- selling Vancouver Island to the Chinese so they won`t have so far to ship their toxic plastics and contaminated foods;
- selling the water in our rivers in Public Private Partnerships to collect taxes on toilet flushes;
- selling Rich Coleman to the Alberta Meat Packers Assoc. (testing for mad-cow first, of course);
- tolling all the bridges everywhere including that lil wooden one by Second Beach in Stanley Park; (don`t laugh, they`ll pay when we let developers build condos on the west side of the park);
- cutting taxes on the rich and making workers pay their fair share;
- setting up a Defend ex Liberals fund for those who got caught and were persecuted unfairly; (or might get caught in the future);
- fixing the HST before 2035;
- forgetting BC Rail once and for all;
- making BC a have-not province for a sixth time, (the NDP only managed it once, we've done it five times!);
- setting up a Junior Ministry advisory on Atlantic fish farm salmon and why growth hormones and coloring are good for you;
- writing a new melody to the Fast Ferries chant;
- yes, we`ll even adjust the minimum wage to $9.25 per hour!

And remember, we don't do French here so Dix is NOT a ten!

All great reasons to return the BC Christy Party to POWER!

There`s lots more where this came from!

[Paid for by the Desperation Committee to re-elect any Liberal anywhere somehow]

Not the old Christy ... but the ....

... new studious Christy Ckark, serious glasses and all.
The Lieberals are going to change their name, we're wondering if they're starting with the looks of their MLAs? Christy donned these 'smart' glasses to complain about what the RCMP thinks of us BCers. Not much, evidently.

Premier Clark recently commented on the RCMP moving a sexual predator Staff Sergeant from Alberta to BC. She's not happy with an RCMP decision to transfer a disgraced Alberta Mountie to a British Columbia detachment. Clark said Friday she thinks RCMP Deputy Commissioner Craig Callens made a wrong decision in accepting the transfer of Sgt. Don Ray, who was reprimanded for having sex with subordinates, exposing himself to a co-worker and drinking on the job.
Sheeez, don't people usually get fired for that? Especially in this day of sexual harrassment on the job. So far Callens' promise at his takeover of BC to change everything rings hollow.

Aside from the NON leadership of Callens, Christy seems to be doing her usual non leadership grandstanding photo-op where she laments the iniquity of a decision or action, but does little about it and says there is nothing that CAN be done about it. Donning black framed glasses won't change anything, maybe she should go to very dark glasses, those incognito kind.
And maybe you too, are like me in wondering what the Deputy Commissioner's idea of leadership actually is? This is what Callens said Thursday -  "The decision to accept the transfer wasn't an easy one, but somebody had to show some leadership on the issue."
Yes, he actually said that? What planet is this guy from? Does he actually have any idea what leadership is? Did he have the authority to reject the head office direction? If he did he didn't have the guts to fight it.

In a time where the RCMP is being sued by their own RCMP officers FOR sexual harassment on the job, leadership would be to ARREST this Officer upon his entry into BC, and charge him with these crimes, THEN let the Feds sort it out.  Force Ottawa into a public confrontation.  Leadership is going out on a limb when you are right rather than accepting the old boy's winks and nudges. It makes me wonder what the Federal RCMP hierarchy actually thinks of British Columbians?

And don't forget that Liberal Attorney General Shirley Bond just signed the new 20 year RCMP contract without reading it or understanding a sentence of it, because they duped her into a monetary deal in their favor, and supposedly the RCMP Act allows for sexual predators to stay on the job! Do you believe this?

And if you are the Premier of our province, knowing this situation, and desperately trying to win over lost voters, blinkers are not the answer, even if they are disguised as studious glasses for image. You'd better study the mood of the people first, you're not fooling anyone into thinking you are smart, intelligent or anything but clever in the worst sense of the word. She might as well be wearing Dame Edna glasses.

Indeed, Bond and Clark both had a great banner regarding police in BC that read, 'Increasing accountability'.  They both need reading glasses.

This is all disgusting!

Here's how it works in BC.

The Victoria Parliament Buildings at midnight. A meeting in the janitor's closet between two men ... both are wearing grey fedoras and black trenchcoats, with Groucho Marx glasses and fake mustaches. They are whispering ....

BC Ferries guy - We need a price increase of about four percent to cover our next years bonuses and payouts to executives for great service to the people.
BC Liberal guy - Listen, we always gotta consider the backlash to fare increases. Uh, lose the cigar, would you?
BC Ferries guy - Backlash?  That was only because David was making a million a year and the ridership didn't like it?
BC Liberal guy - David?
BC Ferries guy - David Hahn.The last CEO of BC Ferries.
(BC Liberal guy slits open the door and peaks out. No sound from the eerie marble hallway)
BC Liberal guy - Oh yeah. The guy who was in charge when that ferry sank.
BC Ferries guy - Um, we don't talk about that one, okay?
BC Liberal guy - Well, he took the spotlight off Gordo's salary and pensions.
BC Ferries guy - Gordo who?

BC Liberal guy - Gordon Campbell, the ex Premier who we hid in England.
BC Ferries guy - Oh, I heard about that. The Gordon's gin guy, we toast him with tumblers. What about our fare increase?
BC Liberal guy - No prob. What 'll we say you need it for? Gas?
BC Ferries guy - Well diesel, that's what we use. The boats were made in Germany, you know, not BC.  Easier to disseminate the money off shore ... if you know what I mean.  (it is so black neither sees the other's wink) Hey, careful where you nudge, eh?

BC Liberal guy - Okay, sure, okay. (pause) Well this is how it works here in BC. You come out publicly and ask for, say a 15% increase, we'll have Christy step in and say she's looking after families and only give you like, 4.8%.
BC Ferries guy - What's the .8 percent for?
BC Liberal guy - You'll be in charge of the money, yeah?
(silence in the blackness)

BC Liberal guy - Win win for all of us.
BC Ferries guy - Lose lose for ferry riders though. (snicker) Say, who's this Christy anyways?
BC Liberal guy - New boss lady, Christy Campbell, er, I mean Clark. Oops, Freudian slip .... (a tremble in his voice) Sheez, I could get sent to East Vancouver for that.

BC Ferries guy - Oh yeah, I remember, Clark is the BC Rail woman.
BC Liberal guy - Shhh. We don't talk about that one and we don't remember stuff either. (he worriedly puts his ear to the slit and listens carefully) Psst! If anyone comes just grab a broom and start sweeping.
BC Ferries guy - You'll get this through before any elections or anything though, right?
BC Liberal guy - Done. Even before the secret RCMP contract. Say, you haven't seen BC Hydro guy, have you?

BC Ferries guy - I think I saw him in the gardener's tool shed siphoning gas out of a lawn mower. Hey, wanna grab a burger? I know an underground MacDonald's that stays open after midnight.
BC Liberal guy - Sheez, here in Victoria? Does everyone do illegal stuff now? Okay, but let's leave one at a time.
BC Ferries guy -You couldn't go as a British Harpo, could you?

Since 2003, when the Crown corporation was quasi privatized, BC Ferries' fares have gone up by about 70 per cent on the major routes between Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland and by 80 per cent on the minor routes, according to a chart on the ferry commissioner's own website.
As the ridership declines, BC Ferries considers charging more from the few remaining passengers. These are the elite brainy people who run our province for huge salaries.

Christy Clark cheats again.

She has to call a by-election in Chilliwack. Hasn't called it yet. Christy and her candidate Laurie Throness are campaigning though regardless.
You see, it is a way of getting around the rules again. If she doesn't call it, the BC Liberals can spend all the money they want in Chilliwack to get their man elected because election spending doesn't count if Christy doesn' officially call one.
Sneaky huh?
Election spending only counts after an election is called.

A way to out-spend the opponents by going under the rules. But then these are Liberals, what did we expect from the BC Christy Party?

Should much more be said ....

.... than what Alex G. Tsakumis says?
This thorn in the side of the BC Liberals and Christy Clark is growing pricklier.

The BC Liberal government has most of the mainstream media in their pockets, obvious by their lack of coverage of anything negative about the party. Yet Alex just won't leave things alone. He acts like he is an old world journalist seeking the truth. Nothing like the current crop of media hacks in print, TV and radio, all being wined, dined and courted by the BC Liberals and their fire stompers.

This 'Atwal Affair' is one more emerging problem for a party so used to lying about everything it cannot stop.  The Christy Clark Liberals are like an old pickup truck, rushing toward the railroad crossing trying to beat the thundering locomotive, and in the back are all those same old lying cabinet ministers and henchmen, clutching on for dear life, still believing they can dupe the BC voters one more time.

Maybe that locomotive is a BC Rail engine?

Rearrangement

The BC Christy Liberals have tried about everything to look different since Gordon Campbell was shamed out of office. Yet Christy BC Liberal Clark's popularity continues to plummet. The problem, of course, is that no one can believe a BC Liberal, simply based on past performance and the fact that no one is changed among that cadre of scoundrels who have duped the BC public now for so many years.
The people of BC just can't bring themselves to trust these guys with any responsibility whatsoever.
It seems inevitable that the BC NDP party will form a government and the worst of all scenarios for the BC Christy party is that the BC Conservatives will likely be the official opposition, leaving Christy Clark to occupy that hallway closet office that her friend Gordon designated so cruelly to the lone NDP MLA so long ago.

The only thing remaining is to guess how many BC Lieberals will try to desert the Christy sinking ship and join that conservative party. The wise whisper of advice to John Cummins might be to avoid those slinking rats like the plague they bring with them.
Oratory may echo from the chambers of the legislature but the sibulent sound slipping under the door of that broom closet will probably still be - fast ferries fast ferries fast ferries.

Will we have RCMP or BCPP?

Why don't the BC Liberals want a BCPP? Forget the rhetoric and threats they are using to counter the bullying by the Federal government. Believe that they do NOT want a BC Provincial Police Force in spite of what they say, they are only trying their own intimidation of the RCMP. It is negotiation.

The BC Liberals will probably sign a new deal with the RCMP BEFORE all this talk takes hold of starting (REstarting) a BC provincial Police force.
Why?
Ask yourself if something is up, when Rich Colemen, Shirley Bond and all those other same old scandal plagued BC Liberals WANT the RCMP, and oddly enough, the LEAD investigator on the BC Rail scandal was an RCMP officer who had close connections with Christy Clark and her family.

Yes, the same Christy Clark who said she only knows some of these BC Rail scandal people from passing them at airports when it is proven that they had dinner at her home with her family!
The BC Liberals are deathly afraid that if they betray the RCMP by going to a BC Provincial Police Force, the RCMP will squeal on them under oath if the NDP ever get their inquiry going into the sale of BC Rail and reveal under a REAL investigation and trial that there was collusion between the RCMP and the BC Liberals to hide the facts of the BC Rail sale!

But perhaps it is too late? The talk is taking hold, the trending going to a BC Provincial Police Force.
Something of our own, with BC native born police members as part of the communities they serve. BC boys and girls who grew up right here keeping the peace for us. And BCPP members who actually CARE about the land they were born in. Not imported from a distant land. Yes, Quebec IS a distant land and totally alien to British Columbians. As is Ontario for that matter.
Everyone seems interested in a do it ourselves police force! They want input and accountability.

Right now we have a Federal police force that brings us policemen and women from elsewhere across Canada, a lot from Quebec. They are poorly trained and involved in scandal after scandal everywhere they work. We have unexplained shootings and assaults on BC citizens; the fatal and mysterious in-custody shooting of Ian Bush in 2005. It seems they are unequipped to deal with simple drunken citizens! These imported constables are ill equipped to deal with hardened criminals and imported drug dealers. Indeed, serious criminals have many charges mysteriously dropped. The Picton trial seemed content to get Willie and leave the out sensitive evidence that may have implicated others in high places. Yet they spent millions. The deadly tazering of Robert Dziekanski at Vancouver's airport in 2007  is still unresolved in the minds of many.  And one of those RCMP officers was already waiting trial on charges of drunken driving causing death!
The total deficiencies in the investigation of serial killer of Clifford Olson who killed while under surveillance!
The Mountie in Kelowna who kicked a man in the face as he was surrendering on his hands and knees. That indicates a serious fault in training. And the costs skyrocket each week!

BC and Ottawa used to share 50/50 the costs of operating the RCMP, and we had control too. Today we pay 90% of the cost and it is totally controlled from Ottawa. These are the same people who are not sure what happens after you cross the Rockies!

In 1950 the BC Provincial Police was disbanded and many of those officers suspected dirty tricks then which smelled of political interference! We suspect the same today!
The former BCPP was a highly respected and progressive organization. It had a coastal patrol fleet, its own forensic unit, employed the best pistol shots in the Pacific Northwest, established a highway patrol unit and connected the office in Williams Lake with Victoria through short-wave radio! All this before 1950. Even had its own magazine, the Shoulder Strap, which was sold on newsstands and kept the public informed about policing issues around the province. They were first to use an aircraft in patrol! They were working for the people of BC and proud of it!
IF the BC Government did REstart a Provincial Police Force a prerequisite should be that the new members are BORN in BC! Then we get rid of these poorly trained Quebecker RCMP who are so used to growing up with corruption they have no idea how to deal with criminals! We could establish a police force of British Columbians second to none in the world. We have the brains and people and technology right here in BC. The public is motivated.
Nothing to do but tell the RCMP to ride off musically into the sunrise. And we go it alone.

But don't count on that from the secretive BC Liberals. They have things to hide.
